YOUR HOUSE IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE

Your home for the week is a beautifully restored village house, full of old-world charm but with all the modern comforts you need. Tucked away in the heart of Pouzolles, it’s a place to slow down, unwind, and soak up the rhythm of French village life.

A Space to Relax

Inside, you’ll find inviting spaces to unwind—comfy corners to curl up with a book, airy rooms filled with natural light, and a peaceful courtyard perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. On warmer days, the heated swimming pool is an irresistible spot to cool off between painting sessions.

Comfortable & Thoughtfully Designed Rooms

The house offers a mix of twin and double bedrooms, all air-conditioned and with private bathrooms. Whether you’re traveling solo or with a friend, you’ll have a comfortable retreat to call your own at the end of each day.

A Village at Your Doorstep

Step outside, and you’re right in the centre of Pouzolles, with it’s picturesque, turreted chateau and ancient village centre stretching back to medieval times. Stop in the café for an espresso or a glass of wine and watch the world pass by as you sketch the local scene.

Surrounded by Vineyards & Open Countryside

Pouzolles sits in the heart of Languedoc’s wine country, with rolling vineyards and sun-drenched landscapes stretching in every direction. If you fancy exploring, you’re welcome to join us on a dog walk through the countryside—or simply head off on your own for a quiet moment with your sketchbook.

A Place to Slow Down & Savour Life

This is more than just a place to stay—it’s a place to feel at home. A place to immerse yourself in the beauty of the South of France, to paint, to relax, and to enjoy good food, good company, and, of course, a glass of local wine

WHAT WE’LL BE DOING

Your painting holiday in France begins! After settling into your charming accommodation, we’ll gather for a warm welcome over drinks—an opportunity to meet your fellow artists and soak in the ambiance of this beautiful region. We’ll go over the inspiring week ahead before sharing our first delicious dinner together.

After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll ease into the week with a relaxed morning in our sunlit studio, where we’ll explore techniques and get a sense of everyone’s artistic style. Then, enjoy a laid-back lunch in our courtyard before heading out to capture the view of the chateau from the village square with paint and brush in hand. There will be time to unwind before indulging in a home-cooked dinner prepared by Monica.
Today, we venture beyond the village to the picturesque town of Roquebrun, where the River Orb winds through the sun-dappled valley. Under the shade of towering plane trees, you’ll paint a tranquil river scene, soaking up the essence of the French countryside. A leisurely lunch at a local restaurant rounds out the day before we return to Pouzolles for more painting back at base and an evening of relaxation and another wonderful meal together.
This morning, we paint the historic windmill at Faugères, surrounded by rolling vineyards and olive groves. A chic picnic awaits under the trees—think fresh bread, local cheeses, and a glass of rosé in hand. Then it’s back to Pouzolles to the house for some free time which you can spend painting or relaxing, before we gather for a convivial evening of paella, laughter, and stories.
Today is yours to design as you wish. Perhaps you’ll explore Béziers, with its winding alleys and hidden treasures, treat yourself to a luxurious spa day at a nearby château, or stay close to home sketching in the peaceful village. However you spend it, we’ll reunite in the evening for another shared meal at the house, swapping stories of the day’s adventures.
With the scent of salt in the air, we head to the Mediterranean coast to paint an evocative seascape. Feel the rhythm of the waves and the warmth of the sun as you bring the scene to life on canvas. A leisurely lunch at a beachside restaurant before we head back to the beach to finish off today’s masterpieces before we return to Pouzolles for a relaxed supper.
For our final full day together, we visit one of the region’s oldest and most charming wine estates. The morning will be spent painting the vineyard’s serene beauty, followed by a wine tasting paired with local delicacies—a true celebration of the senses. As the sun sets, we’ll gather for a farewell dinner at a favourite local restaurant, raising a glass to new friendships, artistic growth, and unforgettable memories.
After a leisurely breakfast, it’s time for heartfelt goodbyes—but hopefully not for long. With a sketchbook full of memories and inspiration, we part ways until we meet again for another painting holiday in France.
